Holly Hunter is an American producer and actress who has been recognized for her high-quality performance in films such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano and The Incredibles. Holly Hunter has won numerous awards, including an Oscar for her film Piano. She started her career acting as an actress both on Broadway as well as Off Broadway. The actress is a lover of acting ever since she started high school. Her first role in a show in the fifth grade was in Helen Keller. In the fifth grade, following a bout of mumps, she lost hearing in the left ear. She did not allow that to stop her. When she was a teenager, Hunter studied drama and then moved into New York City. Hunter came across Beth Henley by chance in a lift. Together they composed Broadway Crimes of the Heart. The play was Hunter's first acting debut. After that, she made the move from New York to Los Angeles and tried to get movie roles. The film, Swing Shift, she landed the role of a back-up. In the last three decades she's appeared in various TV series and movies. Holly Hunter received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and was also awarded an award called the Women in Film Lucy Award.
