Holly Hunter is a well-known American actor also known as a producer, director and actress. She has been praised for her roles in films like Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles and The Incredibles. Holly Hunter has won numerous awards which included her first Oscar for her role in the film Piano. Her career in acting started with Broadway through a myriad of Broadway and Off Broadway initiatives. She has always had an interest in acting from the time when she was in the high school. Her debut role in a production in fifth grade was Helen Keller. After suffering from the mumps, she became deaf on one side of her ear. This was not enough to stop her desire to become an actor. At college, she was a theatre student as well as later moving from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to New York City in pursuit of her goal. After a casual encounter, she got trapped in an elevator along with the playwright Beth Henley and the two worked together on the play 'The Broadway Crimes of the Heart and became Hunter's debut. The first time she appeared in a film was following her move from Los Angeles. She has since appeared in many TV movies and series over a career spanning more than three decades. Holly Hunter has a Hollywood Walk of Fame star and was awarded the Women in Film Lucy Award.
