Holly Hunter, an American film and actress, is well-known for her stellar performances in movies like Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. Her work has been recognized with numerous awards, like an Oscar for the movie Piano. She began her career acting as an actress both on Broadway and Off Broadway. The art of acting has been a constant passion. When she was in fifth grade, she played Helen Keller in an original show. When she was in the fifth grade after having mumps she lost hearing in her left ear. But she didn't allow that to stop her. In her teens, Hunter studied drama and eventually moved in New York City. Hunter came across Beth Henley by chance in the lift. Together, they wrote Broadway Crimes of the Heart. The play was Hunter's first acting debut. Following her move into Los Angeles she tried to obtain film roles and was offered the role of a co-star for the role of a supporting character in Swing Shift. For the past 30 years she's appeared in numerous TV shows and films. Holly Hunter won a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, as well as an award called the Women in Film Lucy Award.
